27th March 2012 Meeting

Todays meeting was the A.G.M and it was attended by 32 members, 2 of which were new members.  This was Plugits 14th A.G.M. and the club is still going strong.  The chairman gave his report in the form of a video which went very well.  He thanked all the committee members for their hard work through out the year.  He also gave thanks to Graham Betts who has Auditing the Accounts for Plugit now for many years.  All the normal formalities were carried out like electing the committee for the following year and viewing Audited Accounts.

Howard Hall showed a video on installing and using a small program called a Virtual Magnifying Glass which works better than the one available on window.  After the break Howard showed a set of three videos on using the Junior Icon Maker program and also on how to use the icons after you have created them.

28 February 2012 Meeting

Todays meeting was attended by 8 Committee and 29 members. We also had one welcome visitor. Bob Lightsey called for volunteers for the “Lets Celebrate Sutton” event that is being held at the Meridale on 17th March, were Plugit will be having a table in the event.

Howard Hall showed a video about WordPad which everyone has free on their computers. After the break Bob Lightsey gave a talk on what happens to your computer information and files after you have died. This was followed by a quick demo from Howard about a free icon program.

24 January 2012 meeting

Todays meeting was attended by 9 committee members, 27 members and we had 3 visitors.

We had some items that had been donated to the club and where sold to the members, also the clubs very old Laptop was sold off.

All members received a gift Plugit Folder to hold their demonstration DVDs and handouts from the meetings.

After the formal side of the meeting Howard showed the members how to use a memory pen to extend the usable memory of their computers.

After the break Brett showed a video on downloading, installing and using Rainmeter, a free software package that displays information about your computer on your desktop.
