[b]Anyone know of any publications, CD's or DVD's that are good for learning how to use various applications e.g. Microsoft's Publisher, Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc. without assistance from a third party?

Information on using applications

Postby AudreyClements » Thu 18 Jun 2009 15:48

Hello Tony. Have you tried '?Help' in each application on your computer? Or searching the web. When I wanted details of my new monitor I typed the name of the manufacturer into Yahoo Search, which comes up with a menu of suggested sites to choose from. I found my model there and a pdf instruction file to download, if wanted. Hope this helps.

Audrey.

Help with Microsoft Office

Postby BrettHarris » Thu 18 Jun 2009 15:51

Hi Tony,

WH Smith's do a self help tutorial made up of the three main Office programs, Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
They come as three seperate books but packaged together and they cost around £14.00.

Teach Yourself

Postby TonyHarrison » Thu 18 Jun 2009 15:53

:D Thanks Brett, I'll certainly look out for those. I've also been given a website to look at which looks interesting. It is www.focusmm.co.uk for anyone else who's interested in self tuition. On that note, anyone else found any good "aids" for home tuition? :D Tony

Learning Aids

Postby AudreyClements » Thu 18 Jun 2009 15:55

Hello Tony, - Audrey again. Just had a thought re the books Brett mentioned. Have you checked them out on the Amazon site? Could be much cheaper. I've just bought a pack of original Epson 'Cheetah' inks for £22. 'Dummies' books are also a great help-yourself aid, also found in Amazon.
Thanks for sharing the website. I'm going to have a look. :geek:

Be seeing you.
